  A few weeks ago, I decided to go to church just to sit there in adoration and prayer. I had some things to do but wanted to dedicate time to God therefore I r ushed and just went as I was . I had   noth ing fancy on ,  just   my ripped jeans and a t-shirt . I rapidly pulled my hair up   o n a ponytail as I got in the car . As soon as I arrived at   church, I tried to clear my head of the many to-dos and tried  just to enjoy a mo ment of quiet prayer. It was mid-day Friday , usually there is nothing going on at church at that time, “ perfect ” I thou ght . I really had no idea what was ahead of me.     So, I walked at a steady pace as I looked   down at the pavement . When suddenly, a familiar voice ma de me look up , “welcome , come join us , ” she said .     It was a longtime friend whom I have not seen in over 15 years.   God a poem written by Kahlil Gibran is an excellent literature piece. This poem is a narrative of a man , p ossibly Moses , from the Old Testament of the Bible. This poem is a combination of episodi c  and organic narrative where the protagonist is not the narrator , in this case God , who is the second figure in the poem. This piece really attracted my attention for its title , along with its method of narration. The poem is about a man going up the mount ain to talk God . This man repeats these actions while he  recites beautiful ver ses for  him . While God seems to pay him no mind. A thousand-years pass, and this man repeats the same exertion   every time with a different pra ise . God storms by and repeatedly seems to ignore his words. Nevertheless, the man continues a thousand years later with the same act ivity . Until the last paragraph where the man recites to God this prayer, “My God, my ai m and my fulfillment; I am thy yesterday and thou are
