I have chosen to share with you six songs that call us to action. To promptly act and save our planet and conserve its natural resources. These songs are all from different genres but share a common message, and that is natural resource conservation and planet conservation.

The first song is a classical by Gustav Holst titled Jupiter. This is a classical piece performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Sir. Charales Mackerras. The song melody is active, and it calls to action. It also evokes a sense of pride, which also contributes to the need for action.

Our next song is the Big Yellow Taxi by Counting Crows featuring Vanessa Carlton. This song talks about how we just keep on building parking lots in this case and how when all (nature) is gone we are going to miss it. The harmony of the voices makes this piece pleasant to the listener. The dynamics as well, the contrast between Vanessa’s soft feminine voice and the contrasting tone of voice of Adam Fredric Duritz from lead singer of the Counting Crows band.

This pop song calls attention to the need to love the earth. The consonance of this song is very pleasing. The voices integrate flawlessly. One might contradict this statement when the Jamaican singer Sean Paul enters to sing his part, but his accent brings the perfect contrast to the melody.

The Earth song and performed on this video by Michael Jackson has a powerful motive. This motive sounds like a loud protest to the world leaders about the conditions of the planet in many ways.

I have decided to include this song due in part to the lyrics and its melodic line. This song has an easy leasing rhythm with a strong message aside the foul language. This one was immensely popular in the rap genre when it came to environmental issues songs.

This song has a clear message about the earth’s situation. This melody has a nice tempo that makes the listener want to clap along with it. The rondo is maintained throughout the song which makes it harmonious and easy to listen to.

I picked this country song because it brings it all together. This song talks about how we are all here on earth with a purpose. We should all work together to save the planet. This song specifically speaks to each person’s purpose in life. That we are here on earth for a reason and that we are all in this together.
